Hello,
I have a pdf file I am trying to edit in Adobe Illustrator by removing the white background from block 18, so the green background is visible. I tried using the Pen tool but do not know how to use it in an area with no anchor points. Any help would greatly be appreciated.

Block 18 is buried under a couple of layers of clipping masks. Once those are released and hidden or deleted, you'll find that the entire white area is one single path. If you only want to remove the white from that one box, I suggest that you
1) Duplicate the path that surrounds that block.
2) Switch the fill and stroke so that there is a black fill and no stroke.
3) Select both the new black-filled path and the white background path.
4) Go to Window menu > Transparency to open the Transparency panel.
5) Click the Make Mask button.
6) Be sure that Clip and Invert Mask are NOT activated.
