Resizing Art

Adobe Illustrator CC

I know that you can resize any artboard and the steps to do it, but I haven't figured out how to resize an artboard and keep the same ratio.

For example:

I created a print on a 4x5 artboard, but now I'm thinking it would look better on a 8x10. Is there a way to make this happen and not have to resize the art to fit artboard after I resize the artboard. I want it to resize all together. I'm not printing these, they are for digital download, if that makes any difference.

Thank you so much, in advance!

Hey

Why not export the artboard at the scale you want/need?

Go to File > Export for Screens… and set the output to 2x (you could actually do as many different sizes as you like, by adding more renditions).

That way you get to keep your artwork the way you created it.

…And just in case that isn't what you're after, the best thing perhaps for you is to resize the artwork, and then select the Artboard and use the Fit to Artwork Bounds option from the artboard size dropdown.

You can move artwork with the artboard, but they don't resize together.

Thank you so much for your help! I will try both options to see what works best for me.
