Question

Resizing artwork on Artboard in Illustrator

Hello! I have been trying to find the answer to this for days now and can't seem to get a simple answer. I downloaded an invitation suite from Adobe Stock and made the edits I needed to the wedding invitations. There are 2 on the artboard and I need to resize them to print 5x7 each. How do I resize that and not just the artboard? Total beginner here, please be gentle

Hi Beth,

Thanks for reaching out. In addition to the suggestions shared by Jacob, please take a look at this help article: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/illustrator/using/setting-documents-printing.html#scale_a_document_for_printing

Let us know if this helps or if you have any further questions.

betho,

Presuming the width to height ratio for both is 5:7, you can select each and in the Transform palette set the Width to 5 and press Ctrl/Cmd+Enter; you can use the most convenient Reference Point.

And move them about if needed.

There are (almost) always different ways when you work with Illy (job description Adobe Illustrator), and she is always eager to help.

Obviously, if the ratio is different you will have to cut something out (or add something) to get the right proportions to start with.
