Question

Resizing without changing the angles

Hello,

I have an image that looks like a crescent moon.  I want to make it a little smaller, but the problem is the angle changes when I use the scale feature.  Is there a way I can resize it without changing the angle?  I was thinking maybe having to manually move each anchor point.  Thanks,

Not sure what you mean about the angle changing, can you  post a screenshot?

I clicked with the option key on bottom left prior to scaling to set at as center of transform.

I use the transform proportional tool, but the shape will change where it bends.  I want a SLIGHTLY small image than the original, almost like an outline or ("Inline"?)  I am very new to illustrator.

It sounds like Offset Path might give you the desired result. With the shape selected, choose Object > Path > Offset Path. Tick the Preview box and enter a small negative value (type a 'minus' [hyphen] before the number).
