Right Click non existent Illustrator 27.8.1

No right click on layers and I have read other discussions where it is suggested to rename preferences. No sorry, I pay a lot to use this software and I expect right click to work after uninstalling and re installing and updating all. I'm not stuffing around with folders in my library. Adobe - please answer to this.

Resetting preferences is a common troubleshooting step to elimiate the possibility of damaged or missing preferences files. If you're not willing to take that step, you won't get very far with issues like this.
