Question

Rounding a single corner not working

I'm attempting to round just the top two corner of a rectangle shape, but using the Direct Selection tool is not working. I've tried holding down keys, but either the entire rectangle gets selected or all four corners get round. I don't know what's meant by the "widget" I'm supposed to be seeing, but I don't see it at all. What am I doing wrong? Thanks!

1 - Use the direct select (Hollow arrow) tool to make the point you want to edit solid, leaving others hollow.

2-  Drag the circle to round just that point

Using the hollow arrow tool is essential in Illustrator to do custom work.

Use the direct selection tool and drag a rectangle around those two corners. Then there should be a fat circle with a point inside it in each corner - the "widget". Then drag one of them. The other should follow.

If the widget is not there: try View > Show corner widget. Also: zoom in.

That did it! Clicking on the rectangle wasn't working, but drawing a little rectangle around just the top two corners did. Thank you!
