RTL/Middle Eastern Line Composer not working properly for punctuation

On Illustrator 2025 (29.0), I have selected Show Indic Options, Arabic text, and Middle Eastern Line Single-Line Composer. However, while the text displays normally, sentences don't start where they should, and the punctuation (full stops/commas) always end up on the right of the text (incorrectly). I am unable to fix this, and installing Illustrator 2024 did not help either.

Perhaps you need to install the Arabic version.

You mean the English one with Arabic support? That's the one I have
