Ruler line & duplicating shape

Ruler line comes with when I & duplicate the shape. I want rular line in the original shape only, not in the duplicated shape. How to fix this?

Okay I have found it. Box selection will copy the line as well. Selecting inside the shape will not copy the line. In this case box selection & selecting a point inside the shape does not give the same result.

To me, it looks like the vertical guide is grouped together with the black polygon. In that case locked guides get automatically / temporarily unlocked as soon as you select the entire group with the Selection tool and Alt key + drag to make a duplicate.

 

If that applies, you may first ungroup or just select the polygon with the Direct Selection tool or Group Selection tool and then duplicate it.

Did you try to Lock Guides?

I assume you mean "Smart Guide". No it does not respond.
