Question

Save As useless now?

I have a complicated graphic that I need to produce two versions of. I have spent a lot of time on this first version with the intention of using Save As to save a copy to another file name before making changes to the new file. Is that no longer possible?

When I go to Save As... and change the name to ______v2 from ______v1, the save button is disabled.

What could I be doing wrong that would disable the ability to save as a different file name?

I thought maybe there'd be a Save Copy... menu option (which is outrageously terrible UI, but par for Adobe). and yet there wasn't.

If I'm doing something wrong, I'd love to know. If Adobe has changed this--it's absolutely terrible and has anybody come up with a way around it other than copying and pasting to a new file?

What version?

I just looked at v30 and everything is still in place and works as expected, including Save as Copy

@Jason Burnett did you already save it? No, that can't be it, I just saved my file. And the only thing that was greyed out was now my 'Save' button. Instead of Save As, is 'Save A Copy' available? I believe the new update, when you want to keep the original file open and save a copy for a new version, the intended command is now File - Save a Copy

I wonder if resetting your preferences would help here too?
