Saved files are not showing in Illustrator after reinstall

I uninstalled creative cloud and redownloaded it and now saved files wont show up. I had files on illustrator that I know I saved but now don’t show up at all. Certain files show only their older version and not their most recent version. I have a macbook air if that makes any difference.
