Saving a reverse image logo

I am trying to convert an all white logo made in illustrator into a jpeg.  When I try to save the image, it just saves a white box, which is not what the logo is.  Any advice on how to convert a reverse color image into a jpeg would be appreciated.  I know I am not adequately explaining my issue, but I am not super familiar with Illustrator.

If you save as a jpeg out of AI, it is going to have a white background. If what you have is white, then it isn't going to show. Alternative file formats would be the best option. Depending on what you are using the logo for, you could save as a .png or .svg. If you need a jpeg, then you need to put in a color background that would match where it is going to go or perhaps just use black if you are just trying to show it to someone - use a black rectangle and send it to the back.

Thanks for the help, I opened the file in Photoshop and saved it as a .png.  It opened in publisher correctly with no white background!
