Does anyone else have issues with saving .ai-files.

I just downloaden a simple .eps icon from shutterstock, after edit I can't save it as .ai. Only as .eps

any suggestions to fix it?

Can you try creating a file of your own and then saving that as an eps? Then try resaving that as an .ai. If that works then it may be something inherant in Shutterstock's way of making an eps. It should also be pointed out that eps is an outdated format which has not been updated since the 1990's. It is possible that CC 2020 has a problem with a format that is as old as this.

I've just created a new document, saved it as .eps, and then tried to re-save as .ai . I've got the same error.

I don't like working with .eps either. But many times I get input-files in .eps. Or as in case with shutterstock - all their vector-files are in .eps.

PS i've just noticed that I can't save any file as .ai. Even if it's a new document without any graphics on it

Same problem here. Can't save anything. Hoping for a quick solution.

"I can't seve it as .ai."

Can you provide more detail? What happens when you try? Can't reproduce it here.

The following error occurs reproducibly with us:

We open an EPS file created with Illustrator 2019 and want to save it as an AI file.

The file will not be edited.

The saving process is aborted with an "unexpected error". Every time.

We have similar issues by saving an eps as an ai file after the suite update to 2020. It tooks so much time and the process can finally onyl be canceld by user. What's wrong?

guess i'll be using 2019 till it gets fixed.

Glad I noticed it before the huge edit I was going to do.

Using AI 2019 version could be an option. 🙂

Let's see how it evolves, maybe someone from the developers will look in here.
