Question

Saving Illustrator Documents, again, and again

In Illustrator 2020, I am noticing that when I save a document, the asterisk on the file name does not disappear. It stays there and when you close, asks you to save again. This is weird because even after saving the document over 5 times, the asterisk is still there. When I close the file, it asks if I want to Save the document ... duh.

This is weird. Anyone else have this issue and know how to turn it off? I feel like I am making errors.

Hi there,

Sorry to hear about the trouble you are facing with Illustrator. I would request if you can share a few more details like:

  1. The exact version of Illustrator and the Operating System.
  2. Does this happen with a specific file?
  3. Where is the file saved (Network Drive/ System Hard Drive/ Shared Folder on System /External Hard Drive)?

All this information would help us understand the issue better and work accordingly. Looking forward to your response.

Regards

1. Adobe Illustrator 24.0.1

2. This happens with any file I save

Thanks for providing additional information. I tried replicating the same at my end on Windows 10 and it seems no issues. Could you please confirm the Operating System that you have? Also please try saving a file locally and see if that makes a difference.
