Saving remote Symbol library in Workspace

Hi all,

I have a Symbol library on a server (or Cloud).

I would like to open it, mark it as "permanent" and save its location in my Workspace, so it always appears when I launch Illustrator.

Is this possible? Or does the library have to be saved locally?

I'm asking because the library can be updated now and then and I want to automatically access the latest version from my Workspace, without having to reload it manually from the server. I cannot copy it locally because I don't have permission.

Thanks for your help.

A workaround I have found for now: create an alias to the server file in the local "User" subfolder in Symbols.

But I'd still be glad to learn about other options.

Note: I have Illustrator 22.1. If it's not possible with my version, is it with the latest?
