Scale calligraphic stroke

Hello,

I'm trying to scale a calligraphic stroke. There are no fill or effects. It's a signature.

When I scale it down, even when Scale Strokes & Effects is ticked in the Transform tool (and in Preferences>General), I get radii that don't scale (I also have Scale Corners ticked).

I've tried Object>Expand. I've tried selecting all and saving it as a symbol and then scaling it - both with the Transform tool and via Shift+Alt and drag. I get the same thing where loops are closed.

If I move the radii around after it's been scaled, it creates undesired results.

Incidentally, I'm using the latest version of Illustrator and have tried shutting down the program and restarting in case it was a simple bug.

It certainly seems like I'm doing something wrong, but I can't figure it out.

Thanks,

Walter

your signature has a fill, just ungroup and delete the one on the back. or remove the fill before expand.

I just tried it, when When you expand Appearance for calligraphic line (if it has a white fill), you will have 2 objects, with 2 defferent fills, Ungroup them

    delete unwanted line.
