Second window opens with the file each time

I used the 'new window' command to work on a file which opened a second window to see the overview of the file while I worked in the first window (both windows tiled). Now, I can't turn off the second window. Each time I open the file, it opens in two windows. How do I revert to one window for the file? I tried shutting down AI and restarting, but it persists.

Lottie, can you try to close the second window.

Then change something in your file, like creating a rectangle and deleting it.

Save the file.

Thanks, that seemed to work. I was working on the file, closed the two windows after saving, and now only one opens.
