Selected type minimizes Illustrator

This one has me scratching my head.
When selecting through type- when either already typed out and then selecting, or when just typing out (but still selected), then (on a dual monitor) manuevering your mouse to something other than Illustrator (lets say something on the dock) Illustrator will automatically minimize itself.
Not a horrific problem for sure, but an aggrivating one to say the least when multitasking between monitors. Anybody have this problem or know of a solution? (other than just desecletion type  -_-  )
