Selection Tolerance seems stuck at 2px

Hello,

 

I am having hard time selecting object as easly as i am used to. Tried to expand tolerance to 8px in the pref panel but it doesn't seem to have any effect. I though i could be used to it but it's definetly hard and frustrating.
As you can see on the video the range of selection while hovering on the path is very tight. 
Any idea?

Are we talking Snapping Tolerance, Smart Guides, search for Set Smart Guides preferences here, or what happens if you use those?

Hello, thanks for the feedback.
Actualy, none of them ( i just tried them though) 
I think it should be set up in the selection and achor panel but had no sucess either.

So what happens if you use Smart Guides and set a Snapping Tolerance (a bit further down in your screenshot)?
