Selection tool and Direct Selection tool randomly switch functions

Hi!

Ive recently updated my Illustrator CC and it now has a few glitches, the main one being that the selection tool and direct selection tool randomly keep swapping functions when I am using them, so that the selection tool will suddenly start selecting anchor points and the direct selection tools suddenly starts selecting the whole object.

Has any one else had this issue since updating and is there a way to stop this?

That's a good possibility; the Selection tool becomes the Direct Selection tool when the Command key is held down, and vice versa. Also, the Direct Selection tool becomes the Group Selection tool when the Option key is held down.

    Are you sure you're not pressing additional keys on the keyboard (Cmd/Ctrl) when this is happening?

      Hi Monika,

      I don't think so as you have to hold them down, but i'll keep an eye on that just in case I'm doing it without thinking!

      My keyboard is also quite old and might be on the way out so there might also be something going on there, maybe the keys are getting jammed or something?!
