Selection tool to duplicate shortcut error

Right, I have been using illustrator for 20 years now and have not come across this problem. When I select an object and try to duplicate it with a keyboard shortcut (hold 'option' to have the double arrow appear)

it does noting anymore. Also selection tool for multible object seems to do noting. I just updated to Sonoma so maybe there is a problem there. I tried so many things, but noting seem to work. Does this sound familiar to anyone?

I contacted wacom, it's a problem within wacom and they are trying to fix it and come up with a new driver, stay tuned....

I have exactly the same problem. Also just updated to Sonoma and the latest Ilustrator

The Option key definitely works for that purpose on Mac OS in version 28

 

Look for other software interfering. Could be from this list or others:

  • WebRoot
  • Apple Terminal
  • Word, Excel, Powerpoint
  • »Enable Full Keyboard« in Settings > Accessibility > Keyboard on Mac OS
  • Apple Mail, Outlook
  • Spacebar is used as a shortcut by the system
  • Chrome, Internet Explorer, Safari
  • Wacom Desktop Center, Wacom settings
  • Windows Touch Pad problem
  • LastPass, Bitwarden (password managers)
  • The VPN

Hmmm, yes could be a wacom thing, I have been having problems with that decive also lately. If I use the buttons on the wacon coping does work, the two arrows appear....

Look like some shortcuts have been reassinged but I can't seem te change them back....
