Selector Tools and other Tool Holding on to objects

As I attempt to use either the shape tool or text tools, they both are holding on to created objects or text and will not let go of the object or text. If I move my cursor around the screen, it is automatically scrolling me up and down and side to side as I move the curser. If I have a shape selected, it will stick the shape to the selector tool and will not let it go. I then have to quit the program since every time I move the cursor, and it drags whatever object I have selected. The program then starts acting very slow and have to quit. I have uninstalled and reinstalled it several times. I think I started having an issue after installing a plugin for a diffeant program Cinima 4D called CV-Artsmart, which alows C4D to take Illustrator files and turn them into 3D spline opjects. That is just a guess, I really have no idea what has caused the issue.  I have deleted all preferences before doing so, and for over a year, I haven't been able to use it. Please, if you have any ideas, I would love to hear them.
