Send to backward or frontward don't work but send to back or front do work.

I have had this problem for a while and i find it really frustrating. If i'm trying to arrange objects in illustrator the bring forward/ send backward buttons (and shortcuts) do not work while the bring to front/ send to back buttons (and shortcuts) do work. If i'm working with 2 objects that are on top of each other this doesn't matter, but as soon as multiple objects are stacked it's very hard to get them in the right order. Does anybody know a solution to this problem?

    When did you last reboot the computer?

    Did you already try resetting the preferences?

    Did you already try re-assigning the shortcuts?

    I resetted my preferences and now it works again, thank you so much!
    Does that mean that the problem was caused by some of my settings, or did resetting just possibly fix a bug?

    Preferences usually need to be reset when updating Illustrator. Also they can get corrupted from time to time.
