Serialized labels using batch action & variable text--stuck at print dialog

Greetings,

My use case includes printing serialized labels to a label printer. My current preference is to print directly from Illustrator using batch actions and dynamic text iterating over serial numbers loaded from a .csv file (as in this video), but I'm open to other efficient workflows including a script, batch saving PDFs to be batch printed from another app, etc.

The issue with my current workflow: the batched print sequence stops for input every time it iterates. I have to hit "Print" on the print dialog for every label.

Is there something I'm missing in the action recording / definition?

Or is the print dialog box inaccessible somehow to Illustrator's batch actions?
