Question

shape builder & pathfinder gap error

In Illustrator,

Cutting some parts with a shape builder or pathfinder creates a small gap

(both shape builders and pathfinders have the same effect).

The attached image is a copy of the same image as ctrl + c, ctrl + f.

If the positions are the same, the line should fall neatly, but there is a slight gap.

I have tried reinstalling, rebooting, updating the graphics driver, formatting the pc, and so on.

Do you have a solution?

The Gap thing seems to still be happening, is there an updated post somewhere with a fix?

The "gap thing" (or whatever else anyone wants to call it) is going to be a common behavior across all vector-based drawing applications. If someone is duplicating nearly identical paths right on top of each other and then welding them together it's likely some glitches are going to happen (especially if the paths being welded together are curved or have other complex features). Precision with pathfinding operations goes only so fine. It's just like the matter of there being no infinite level of zoom or no infinite size of art boards. Everything has their limits.

    yumik,

What happens if you set the Precision limit as low as possible, see Specify Pathfinder Options here?

I did what you said(set the Precision limit as low as possible.),

but it still does not work out.

    yumik,

If you can show enough of the artwork to reveal the structure, there may be a basis for another way, which may form a solution.
