Share for Review in Illustrator – Workflow & Collaboration Enhancements Needed
As a team working heavily in packaging and print design for education, we've found Share for Review incredibly helpful—but there are some key collaboration features missing that would significantly improve usability in real-world workflows.
🔁 Missing Feedback Loop to Original Requester
Once a reviewer resolves a comment or approves, there’s no automated update back to the original requester/artworker.
We need:
An email notification when all assigned reviewers have completed feedback.
A second notification when the artworker has completed the final edits.
These should include a summary of activity (comments resolved, edits made) so nothing gets lost in follow-up.
✅ Reviewer Assignment + Sequencing
Currently, anyone with the link can review at any time. In teams with multiple stakeholders, this causes chaos.
We need the ability to:
Assign a list of reviewers in a specific order, where each one gets notified only after the previous reviewer is finished.
Trigger an automated email to all reviewers when final review is done, and when final edits are implemented.
🧠 Review Management for Key Stakeholders
In large teams, especially in publishing or product packaging, a key stakeholder (e.g. Head of Marketing) needs to track who has reviewed what and when.
The current system doesn’t provide any oversight.
Please consider:
A dashboard-style view or summary log of comment activity (who, what, when) assesible to reviewer.
Status tags like “Awaiting Review”, “In Progress”, “Final Approved”.
- Final PDF - space for a link to the final press ready PDF.
📄 Reviewer Tools Missing
Reviewers currently:
Cannot rotate artwork (critical for reviewing packaging dielines and box layouts).
Cannot print a low-res version for physical markup or client approval.
Both of these are essential in real-world packaging workflows and educational publishing.
🤝 Share Comments with Other Artworkers
Only the original artworker receives comment notifications.
We'd like the option to add additional team members or artworkers to receive and respond to reviewer comments.
Summary: Ideal Feature Additions
✔️ Feedback loop emails (end of review / end of edits)
✔️ Reviewer list with optional sequential review
✔️ Final status summaries and reviewer tracking
✔️ Artwork rotation + print for reviewers
✔️ Ability to share comments with multiple artworkers
These improvements would dramatically enhance collaboration for teams dealing with high-volume, multi-approver workflows—particularly those in education, publishing, and packaging design.
