Slices in Asset Export Panel are blank

Hi,

I haven't used slices in Illustrator for a while but I've inherited a project from someone.

So I've created some slices, then I select the slices and go to my Asset Export panel. Then I click "Generate Multiple Assets from Selection". Then it shows thumbnails of the slices I just created, but they are blank. When I export them they are blank files. There is art on my artboard, what am I missing here?

Correct answer Monika Gause

Slices and Assets are 2 different things.

You can drag objects into the Asset Export panel, but not Slices

You could export based on artboards.

If you want to export slices, use Save for web

You should be able to export slices in the asset panel because slices are for making assets. Anyway, I did use Save for Web and it worked, so thank you 🙂

Also, "Slice Options" is set to Image.
