Smart Guide

Hey guys,

Since Adobe updated Illustrator to version 29.4, Smart Guides no longer work properly. I don't know if anyone else is having the same problem. My computer isn't the problem because it's new and works fine. I need help to fix this problem. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I am having issues with smart guides rotating with errors. I select a line, press shift to rotate, and it instantly rotates it to 0.29 degrees, with all the other angles having that same issue (90.29, 180.29, etc). It is making all my straight lines crooked. When turning off smart guides, this goes away, but it just makes everything more difficult. The image shows a line I am trying to rotate, and as soon as I select it and start rotating, it just shifts 0.29 degrees automatically.

  • Whether you're using a pen, tablet, or another input device
  • A screenshot of your Smart Guides settings
  • A short screen recording showing your workflow and the issue in action

Can you explain the problem you are experiencing? If for no other reason, to verify other users are seeing the same issue. "No longer work properly" isn't very descriptive.
