Snap to grid settings - what am I doing wrong?

Hello Adobe Yodas

I have a question re snap to grid. My document is set up with a rather fine grid. Settings are:

Currently I am trying to snap some basic wireframe lines in increments along my document every 46mm (I will need the 0.1mm subdivisions later!) but my lines are not snapping to any part of the grid.

I assume one of my document settings needs tweaking..

Doc is B2 size and set up in mm

Snap to grid ticked

Snap to pixel and point both unticked

Show grid ticked

Pixel preview unticked

Snapping tolerance left at 4pt because I didn't know what it did

What setting am I missing?

Thank you

Correct answer Monika Gause

Hi Monika, thanks for replying. As I said above, I have done - it hasn't made a difference.

Can you try with a looser grid?

Yours might just be too fine.

If you add those 0.1 lines later, just add them later.

Are Smart guides turned on?

THey are not cooperating with align to grid.

Yes they are on and have the following settings:

They most certainly are not co-operating with align to grid. I have tried turning them off and on but it doesn't make a difference.

Turn them off if your want to use the document grid.
