Space bar in text will not work

Question

Running the updated Illustrator 27.8.1 on Mac Mini w Ventura13.5 and, suddenly the spce bar in Illustrator only, will not work. I have tried restarting Illustrator, tried restarting the computer...nothing seems to be working. Please help!!! Thank you.
