spacebar click doenst activate the pan tool

Hi all,

I have a problem. I used to work on a mac and I used the spacebar+click to pan arournd the artboard, while the command (eg the pen tool) was still active. Because of corona and a new job, i have to work from home, on my mac, and have to log in on a digital external workspace via an application (citrix). This workspace runs on windows. When using illustrator, pressing the spacebar shows the hand tool, but when i click it switches back to the active command, (eg the pen tool and creates a point).

Hope my description is clear (sorry for my bad English) and someone can help me, cause life isn't easy without this tool:P
