Hi there, 

Can anyone help! I'm wondering how the stickers were created with the indented curved shapes?

The shapes were probably not generated from the text, but built separately. Maybe like this: https://youtu.be/QMMI8ZHtu-U

You need to figure out which base objects you need and then build them and combine them. Rounding the corners can be done afterwards. Of course for some you might be able to use Compound shapes (not: compound paths), but not for all.
