Hi,

I have a pearl .ai that I need to bring into my package artboard but whenever I bring it over, the pearl becomes a hollow like the image seen in image 2.

    Hello Barbara,

    Here is the Pearl.ai file - https://ufile.io/ddrld

    Packaging file - https://ufile.io/t1p6i

I noticed once I changed my packaging file's working color to RGB the pearl works but not in CMYK, not sure if this would affect printing later on?.

There are two special blend modes used in the objects that form the pearl: Multiply and Color Dodge. Blend modes don't always act the same in RGB and CMYK and that is what's causing the issue.

Do you have any special blend modes applied to any of the objects that make up the pearl, and that may be changing after they are pasted into your package?

    1) In the original pearl file, you could try choosing Paste Remembers Layers.

    2) Select everything on layer 2 in the original pearl file. You can do that by clicking the circular target next the Layer 2.

    3) Then copy and paste the pearl into the package file.

Let me know if this works for you.

    Hello,

I tried the paste remember layers but I'm still getting the same. The blend modes I'm not too sure as I downloaded this from another website.

If you are able to make the file available or provide a link to download it, I can take a look at it to see what's going on.
