Suggestion: Auto-Focus Fill or Stroke in Panel

Hi everyone,
I’d like to suggest a small dynamic improvement that could make working with the command panel more intuitive, especially when dealing with object colors.

Currently, when I select an object with a fill, the square showing the fill color stays in the foreground. It would be helpful if, when selecting a stroke instead, the stroke color square automatically came to the foreground. This way, switching between fill and stroke editing would be smoother and wouldn’t require manual toggling each time.

I believe this change could improve workflow efficiency, especially when working with multiple objects and frequently alternating between fills and strokes.

What do you think? Has anyone found a workaround or implemented something similar?

Hi, Giacomo, the best place for feature requests is here:

But thinking about your request, how would Illustrator know what you want to change? Do you want to add/delete/change a fill or a stroke?

Is simply using the X key not enough to change the focus between Fill and Stroke?
