Surface Book 2: Illustrator & InDesign issues

Hello community

Unfortunately I fail to find an adobe mail address, so I try my luck here.

We have had many Problems regarding a Surface Book 2 and Illustrator/InDesign. One problem was solved with the installation of the Fall Creators Update (before the update, we weren't able to import documents/pics from SharePoint in InDesign), but other problems still occured.

In Illustrator, nothing happened when changing the view to path view. You could change between path view and gpu preview but nothing changes at all, it stays at gpu preview. edit -> preferences -> performance -> disabling GPU-performance did the job, but can that be the solution?? Looks like a bug to me...

Also pretty strange: In InDesign, we had troubles with the layer view. It didn't show us, at which layer the selected object was. Also we have had trouble with the view of the sample pages -> the small Icons didn't show up, although they were activated etc. in the options. While I tried many things to get this to work, I also deinstalled Adobe CC completely and chose the option to delete the presets and everything. Then I reinstalled, but the issues weren't gone yet. Now the funny part: Later on, I discovered the possibility to delete the presets with Ctrl+Alt+Shift after starting the application, and actually this did the work. So what's the difference between this option and deleting the presets while deinstalling? I mean, when deinstalling it should remove like everything, no?

These issues only occured on newer devices like Surface Pro and Surface Book 2.
The application commands might be named differently, I tried to translate them from German to English.

For your information: The devices run Windows 10 Pro 64 BIt OS, Fall Creators Update installed (testing purposes).

InDesign version: 13.0.1 x64, Illustrator version: 22.0.1 (64 bit)

Have a nice day everyone!

Correct answer Monika Gause

At the moment there is no fix besides updating drivers and if that does not work: disabling the feature.

There are a couple of known issues with Outline view.

Only staff is able to tell you what is in development, is already fixed in beta versions and when it will be published.

You might try and find bug reports on http://illustrator.uservoice.com

This also contains infos about fixes.

Outline mode doesn't work

This link shows that this problem has been fixed in NVIDIA GeForce series driver version 388.31 released on 15-Nov-2017.

However the NVIDIA Geforce GTX 1050 in Surface book2 is the customed version (not the public version on NVIDIA, which means Surface users can only download the update from microsoft). Currently, the newest version of NVIDIA Geforce on microsoft.com is 388.08, so Surface users still cannot solve this outline problem.

I just want to know when will Microsoft release the newest version of NVIDIA Geforce????

You should ask Microsoft about that.

This problem is still not solved...

I have the same problem, the pan to zoom doesn't work and the outline isn't working.

We are almost 5 months further and there is still no fix?

Thanks for your answer.
I might have been a little bit messy about what I'm asking actually, so: I would like to know if the Problem with the path view is known already? And if there is another solution than disabling the GPU-performance in the settings. I mean, I won't miss a feature that speeds up literally everything, right?
I think at this stage we don't need anyone to access the device mentioned above.

Best regards
