SVG Problem

I create my designs in Canva and download them as a SVG and import into Illustrator if I need to size up for printing purposes.

I normally place the SVG file into Illustrator, and it is the exact size. Now when I place the SVG into Canva, there is extra space around the design and the design is not the correct dimensions.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

If you are using this for printing purposes, avoid SVG altogether. It is not as robust as AI or PDF. Canva can import PDF and PDF-compatible .AI files

How are you saving the SVG file in Illustrator? Are you using the Save As dialog box or using Export for Screens? What are the export settings? The version of SVG chosen (such as SVG 1.1 or SVG Tiny 1.2, etc) can affect the outcome. CSS Properties and the number of decimal points chosen in export settings can also affect the artwork.
