Taking Icons from Illustrator to Indesign

Hi!

I created an icon set with an editable stroke in Illustrator. Now I need to take the icons across to Indesign while keeping the stroke editable. Every way that I have tried to take them across has flattened the artwork. Can anyone help??

Thank you! 🙂

In Illustrator, are your strokes perhaps aligned to inside or outside?

Or some transparency settings other than "normal"?

Hi Kurt!

It is set to align to centre and it doesn't seem like I can change it to
left or right align. Is that normal?

Hard to tell without taking a look at the actual file.

Can you perhaps share this Illustrator file for inspection?

Copy in Illustrator and Paste in Indesign?

Thanks, Ton. This was the first thing I tried but it is pasting as a
flattened vector and the stroke is no longer editable when I copy and paste
into Indesign.

I'm not sure if it is something in my preferences / settings that is
causing this.

I could have guessed you tried that. My Clipboard Handling settings have both SVG and PDF checked.

Both InDesign and Illustrator documents had the same color mode.

In Indesign I have Prefer PDF When Pasting unchecked forClipboard Handling.

Thank so much for sharing your settings. I double checked mine and it still
doesn't seem to be working. I'm super confused.
