Technical support SOS!

Hi all, 

  I'm having an issue with illustrator not allowing me to build a pattern and drag it to the swatch panel. I literally was making patterns yesterday and now I can't make any....

  I'm building it by doing the bounding box last, copy and pasting behind, no stroke no fill and then selecting everything and dragging and dropping into swatch panel. I was in a great flow and now I can't build or even change the background color of my patterns. Very strange and frustrating...HELP!
