Question

•  Temporary disappearance of several texts (in the display) —>  BUG?

Hello -

I recently updated to the latest version of Illustrator (CC2023) on the MacBook PRO of one of my colleagues.
Since then, he's been noticing strange behavior when text disappears (erratically, hazily, …).

This happens when he switches from "preview" to "overprint preview" and/or when he zooms in/out, etc…

There are even characters here and there that appear outside the artboad and he can't select/delete them!

I opened these documents on my MacBook PRO (exact same configuration) and within a second, I saw where texts were missing, where outside the artboad it's telling me about characters it sees but can't delete.
However, after this second, the document is completely normal,
i.e. the display is correct (on my computer).

Any idea what this might be?

I've already emptied all the "CACHES" including those of the fonts, ...
Of course, we've already rebooted the machine, ...

Thanks, have a nice day

Hello -

It's a really annoying bug (if it is).

We have now trashed all prefs. from Illustrator, made all update we were able to do.

But nothing…

The problem is still there  🤬🤬🙎

Any other suggestions?

Thank you.

Hello -

Thanks for your reply.

We had no other option (understand we were forced) to upgrade the CC2023 with the CC2024.

What we don't like… being in the production my colleagues don't need all the new features that Adobe offers

But as I just written, there was no other option…

Apparently and currently it seems to work.

Regards

What kind of texts are they? Path text?

Did you already reset the preferences?

Is any font management installed?

Does it happen with certain documents? Certain fonts?

Several people have reported issues with path text and there are a couple of threads about it in this forum. I haven't followed up if there is a real solution for it.
