Text doesn't show up anymore after update, Illustrator super slow too

Question

I've just updated my Macbook (Pro, 2021) as well as Illustrator to the newest version but just even trying to open a cloud document takes at least 3 minutes now.

After the document is finally open I noticed that literally all of my text layers are gone or at least aren't shown to me anymore. I can still see the text in the little preview frame before I open a document but that's it.

Illustrator itself is also super slow and laggy. I don't know if it's because of the Macbook update or a problem with the Illustrator update but it's super frustrating. Has anyone experienced the same problem?

I tried deinstalling Illustrator and then installing it again to maybe fix the issue but the same thing keeps happening.

I'm super thankful for any tips you might have!

We understand that encountering technical issues can be frustrating. I hope the problem is resolved by now. If not, kindly check if Illustrator also behaves this way with other files. If it doesn't, kindly share a sample file (https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/share.html) you are having trouble with, so we can check it on our end.
