Hi there, so i used the retype beta thing and tried downloading a font, after that it came up in red saying 'there was an error converting text". i managed to get rid of this by closing the app and reopening but now when i save an SVG and upload it to cricut design space it says "The uploaded SVG contained the following items that are not supported: Text elements."

does anyone know how i fix this?

Edit: I didn't see the solution to the problem being posted before posting this comment.

What font are you using? Could it be by chance a Variable Font? It is common for Variable Fonts to have parts that overlap each other. Such features will cause big problems in any device that cuts lettering and graphics out of material (vinyl cutters, routing tables or even a Cricut machine).

In Adobe Illustrator you won't see letters with overlapping parts in live text objects; you have to convert the text to outlines and then view the lettering in Outline View. The letters render as solid in full color Preview mode because the fonts use a non-zero winding rule. The overlapping parts can be fixed by converting the lettering to outlines and then using the Unite Pathfinder operation to weld over the overlaps. Even some "static" fonts even may have overlapping parts. For example, I've seen overlapping strokes in ordinary TrueType and OpenType versions of Montserrat.

Presumably you need to convert fonts to outlines for Cricut. You can do this in the SVG export options.
