Question

Text illustrator

Greetings, team. I have a suggestion to enhance your fantastic design software. I frequently work with tiny text elements in my vector art designs for textile sublimation. The challenge lies in the sheer volume of items I create daily, each with various sizes and variations. Sometimes, I inadvertently include text within the art, only to notice it after printing. To address this, I propose the creation of a 'guide text' feature. This text could be visible during the design process but excluded from the final print. Alternatively, a warning could be implemented to alert users when text is present within the art. Thank you for considering my suggestion

You could place your text on a non-printing layer.

When working with hundreds or thousands of vectors that vary in size, name, and number, as is common in sports apparel, it becomes increasingly difficult to meticulously examine each layer. While manually inspecting 10, 20, or 30 layers is manageable, doing so thousands of times for sports apparel printing inevitably leads to missed letters or characters. It would be significantly easier to control this process if there were non-printing guide texts that could be used solely for design reference

Your description says you sometimes do this 'inadvertently'. How are you imagining this non-printing text is managed? Why would it be easier than placing all text you don't want to print on a particular layer?

Hey @Hanschrs

This is a great idea.
Consider posting your idea to the idea platform as well.
