Text Not Selecting Illustrator

I cannot seem to grab my text with my curser/text tool or pointer. It’s as if a baseline shift has been added to the text, but there is not baseline shift added.

I have to highlight or grab underneath the text in order to make changes.

It is so difficult to grab that I have to change all my text to outlines in order to work with it.

I’m working with the latest’s cloud version and there are no updates available.

Any idea how to fix this?

It is not. I think my font might have gotten corrupted. It was working the other week and all of a sudden it is not. When I switch to a different font, it seems to go back to normal. It is our house font that is used in every document, I'm going to see if I can re-install it.

    Thank you for your feedback!

    Please create a new thread.

Tell us your version and system

    Show a screenshot

Tell us exactly what you are doing to select the text

Show us the formatting of the text.

Is the preference option Type object selection by path only turned off?

Is View > Show edges turned on?

Any chance that Type Selection by Path Only is checked in your Preferences/Type?
