Text On A Line Disappearing Each Time I open the Document

When creating maps each time I open the Illustrator Doc some of the Type on a Line Street names disappear. Not all of them and not all the time. I have reinstalled the app and no joy. Does anyone have any solutions? I'm thinking that I may have to scrub Adobe off my computer all the way to the hidden files and reistall everything to get rid of glitches caused conflicting updates. Does anyone have a resource for guiding me though that.

    But please before you do that: search this forum for type on a path issues. There have been some that sound like your issue.
