tGenerative fill pattern turn into tile

Hello! I am maybe using the wrong method, i'm unable to take a pattern that AI generative fill has created and export it as tile to be a repeating pattern. I want to be able to export just the single tile of the pattern that allows me to turn it into a repeating pattern. The process I was following is linked below. Usually I use photoshop and am not super familiar with Illustrators tools, which makes working with the new generative feature on Illustrator harder. Thanks!
