The ability to scale with the cursor is not working anymore

Hi

I used to change the size of images by just using the selection tool. I obviously did something and now it says "path" and has a rectangle apear next to it but it wont scale the images. Its probably something very obvious that im missing here...

    I difficult to find the reason , may be capture can help.

    Shift Command B to show bounding box. That key command toggles the bounding  view on or off, so you might have pressed that on accident.
