“Adobe Illustrator 2026 (Beta).app” is damaged and can’t be opened.

This is frustrating. I’m testing features but can’t even get the app to open. I’ve reinstalled creative cloud, I’ve uninstalled the app repeatedly, restarted everything, stripped the attributes of the app using the terminal.

I’ve lost hours this morning. Utter waste of time AGAIN Adobe! Very annoyed.

Hi @alexl11425899,

We understand how frustrating it could be. We would feel the same in your situation. If I heard you correctly, you are unable to open Illustrator Beta from the Creative Cloud Desktop app. If that’s the case, please share the version of Illustrator Beta installed on your machine.

Please try the steps below and let us know if that helps:

  • Uninstall the Beta build and delete the Beta folder from the Applications folder
  • Once done, check for updates in the Creative Cloud App
  • Install the latest Beta build849631iD755FE3FECB91E66.png

Please also check whether you have granted full disk access to Adobe Illustrator (Beta) in Privacy & Security under system settings.

Looking forward to your response for further assistance.

Thanks,

Harshika

That’s exactly what I’ve done with Version 30.7 (the latest version). It’s been uninstalled and deleted from the Applications folder. Creative Cloud has also been updated and reinstalled.

Hi @Truck808,

Thanks for the update. Could you please confirm your OS details? Try completely removing the Illustrator BETA using the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool, then reinstall it and check if the issue persists. Ref: Download and run the Creative Cloud Cleaner tool

Let me know how it goes once you try that.

I'm using MacOS Sequoia 15.5
Unfortunately, after using the cleaning tool, uninstalling, them reinstalling Illustrator Beta I still get the error:

“Adobe Illustrator 2026 (Beta)” is damaged and can’t be opened.

Hi @Truck808,

Thanks for sharing the update. Could you please share a short screen recording showing the complete workflow, from opening the Creative Cloud Desktop app, going to the 'Apps' and then the 'Beta apps' tab, and then trying to launch Illustrator Beta, where you see the 'damaged' error? This will help us understand exactly what's happening and check it with the team.

Looking forward to your update.

Abhishek

Hello @Truck808,

Thanks for reaching out. Could you try removing and reinstalling Illustrator (Beta) to see if it helps? Also, check if the problem persists when trying to open the application normally and when opening the file in the release version of Illustrator and share your observations.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Thank you, Anubhav
I don't see the Illustrator Beta App in my Creative Cloud App. I do see another app called Illustrator (Pre-release.) I installed the pre-release and I get an error when I launch it: Your Illustrator build has expired.
