The "Can't open the illustration..." error message

Hi,

I've been working with a large file that was fine for awhile. Then suddenly when I closed out of it and tried to reopen it today, I started getting the error message:

"Can't open the illustration. Could not complete the requested operation." And when I click OK and it opens, its just blank.

I've read a lot of different posts and videos about solutions out there about this error message but so far none of them have worked for me. Can anyone please help with this?

Its a very important file.

Thank you!

Make backups. For every file. Save different versions of your file. Every time. But most importantly for the important files.

    Harddisks are cheap. Really cheap.

    Thta apart:

Where did you save your file?

    What's in your file?

How large is it? Is filesize still that large?

What did you try already to recover your file?

saved it on box.com, which operates as my company's server.

it's a print piece with some very large images as the main content, and the file is 387 mb. Still that large.

    I've tried:

1.) moving OE something folder from my Application Support folder.

2.) Moving the file to my desktop and then placing it into a new .ai file.

3.) Adobe Chat Tech support trying to save the file.

And there's nothing there when you place it into a new file?
