Question

The dimensions change when I try to print the file.

I created an illustration in Illustrator with the dimensions 240 mm x 58 mm. However, when I try to print it, the sizes don't match. How can I ensure that the dimensions are exported exactly in centimeters?

It sounds like an option in a print dialog box is being checked to fit the content to the page rather than print at actual size. Sometimes printing documents directly from Adobe Illustrator can be tricky; Illustrator has its own print dialog box. But then the printer's driver may try to apply its own settings. Illustrator will display a little warning if you try to open the printer's own settings rather than use those within Illustrator.

Printing the artwork from Adobe Reader or Adobe Acrobat can be a decent work-around. Those apps won't protest it if you need to open the printer's driver settings.

Hello @Joni25891337kgqd,

Could you share more details, like the version of the OS/Illustrator installed, screenshots of how the document looks in Illustrator and in the final print, and the print settings used, so I can better assist you?

Looking forward to hearing from you.
