The film grain 'type' drop down menu isn't appearing in illustrator - any ideas?

Hey, hope someone can help - I don't have the film grain drop down menu to select 'soft, stipple' etc - I simply have the 3 slider bars - when I open another file (created by someone else) with a 'soft' filter applied, I CAN see the drop down menu, but when I open another image on the same document to apply the same effect it's gone again. Any help greatly appreciated 🙂

(Ive restarted etc as a first port of call)

I'm on the latest version of AI and on OS 11.7.1
