The "object" copy is not currently available error while trying to apply action to a batch

Hello! Apologies if this sounds confusing, but I want to apply an action that begins with copying an image, apply image trace to that image, then pasting in place the same image and apply a different, transparent image trace over that copy. the problem is when I apply the action to batch I get an error stating "The "object" copy is not currently available," how do resolve this issue with the copy action?

For whatever reason the post will not allow me to attach the action .aia or .ai file for reference.
